About FIRST LEGO League (FLL)
Each year FLL teams embark on an adventurous challenge based on current, real-world issues.
Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the kids:
- Research and solve a real-world problem based on the Challenge theme
- Design, build, program, and test an autonomous robot to complete missions related to the annual Challenge theme
- Present their original research and solutions
- Complete interviews regarding technical and teamwork processes
- Carry out school of origin and community outreach and education
The FLL annual Challenge:
- Encourages kids to think like scientists and engineers
- Provides a fun, creative, hands-on learning experience
- Teaches kids to experiment and overcome obstacles
- Builds self-esteem and confidence
- Inspires kids to participate in other science and technology related classes and programs

By creativity, access to technology, or interesting research, FLL dares kids to test,
explore, expand, and change their approach to science and technology in the world around them.
No matter what the child's interests, FLL offers an opportunity for engagement.
