BadgerBOTS employs instructors and counselors to teach educational camps during the summer, spring and winter breaks.

Now accepting applications for 2017 Positions: Spring Break Instructor, Summer Camp Instructor and Summer Camp Counselor! Submit you application materials below and we will contact you shortly.

Instructor duties:

  • Presenting lessons in a fun, engaging way
  • Managing a class (transitioning between activities, keeping the class on task, enforcing behavior expectations)
  • Effectively working with either a co-instructor or a camp counselor
  • Setting up materials before each session and cleaning up at the end
  • Assisting with camper check-in, lunch, and check-out
  • Facility clean-up
  • Completing tasks as assigned by camp director

Counselor duties:

  • Helping to set up, clean up and distribute class materials
  • Answering student questions
  • Working one-on-one with students
  • Troubleshooting computer and equipment issues as the instructor leads the rest of the class
  • Participating in team building and lunch time activities
  • Preparing and cleaning up snack
  • Facility clean-up
  • Completing tasks as assigned by camp director or instructors

A strong candidate for any position will have experience working with youth in a camp or club program, K-12 education, or other youth mentoring role. Instructors should be capable public speakers, be able to think on their feet and improvise to adapt to their students needs and learning styles, dependable, and excited to help students expand their STEM knowledge through investigative and hands-on learning. Counselors should be good listeners and problem solvers, patient with kids. and have an interest sharing their knowledge of STEM with campers. Some familiarity with any of the following is preferred but not necessary: Scratch, LEGO Mindstorms, Blockly, Minecraft, AppInventor, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript or Python.

Spring Break 2017 Instructor

BadgerBOTS 2017 Spring Break Camp is split in to two different sessions:

  • Session I: March 27-31
  • Session II: April 10-14

Instructors are expected to lead week-long, half-day camps according to BadgerBOTS curriculum. Training for these camps will be scheduled a week or two before camps begin to fit with Instructor schedules.

Three shift types are possible, depending on the camp topic schedule.

  • Mornings 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Afternoons 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • All Day (includes 30 minute lunch break) 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Summer Camp 2017

BadgerBOTS 2017 summer camp programs begin Monday, June 19 and continue through the summer until the week of August 22 – 26. Instructors are expected to lead week-long, half-day camps according to BadgerBOTS curriculum. Counselors support instructors by helping to answer student questions, working one-on-one with students, and helping to prepare class materials.

Technical training will be provided along with general program training and will be scheduled during the weeks of June 5 – June 16. Applicants will need to be available for this training time.

Three shift types are possible, depending on the camp topic schedule.

  • Afternoons 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • All Day (includes 30 minute lunch break) 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
