BadgerBOTS FLL Jr

Explore – Create – Test – Share

FIRST LEGO League Junior is an annual, team-based program for K-3rd grade (must be at least 6 years old). The season begins in August with the end-of-season Junior Expo usually in November.

The FIRST LEGO League Junior is a program for 1st through 3rd graders to get their hands on the robot in a collaborative environment.  Teams of 4 – 6 kids (ages 6 – 9) work together to answer the challenges of the annual theme through a “Show Me” poster presentation and a moving LEGO model using the WeDo 2.0 LEGO Robot and programming language. Our goal is for kids to get thinking about the impact they can make in the world through sharing their ideas as well as getting them building and programming together.

FIRST LEGO League Junior teams should plan to have 1-2 adult volunteer coaches to lead them through the 8-12 meetings planned out in the Engineering Notebooks given to each team. Teams can meet more, but will need at least this many meetings to get all of the work completed in time!
