2007 Challenge Theme  POWER PUZZLE

(Alternative Energy - Meeting Global Demand)

How do our personal energy choices to heat our homes, fuel our cars, charge our cell phones, power our computers, or even download music to our iPods impact the environment, economy, and life around the globe? Which resources should we use and why? Explore how energy production and consumption choices affect the planet and our quality of life today, tomorrow, and for future generations. Can FIRST LEGO League teams find the ultimate solution to this global Power Puzzle?

The 2007 FLL Season!

This season was amazing.  Congratulations to all of our teams for learning, sharing, and having fun while competing... you all rock!  Check out the "our teams" page to see how the teams did both at our regional and the State Championship.

PLEASE share your experience with others and get interested parents, teachers, and students to get on the electronic mailing list so we can contact them for next year!  Remember that it all starts up the first week of school so this is our only efficient way to get a hold of everyone...

What is FIRST LEGO League (FLL)?

FIRST LEGO League, or FLL, is an exciting and fun international robotics program that ignites enthusiasm for discovery, science, and technology in kids ages 9 to 14.

Each year FLL teams embark on an adventurous challenge based on current, real-world issues.  Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the kids:

  • Research and solve a real-world problem based on the Challenge theme

  • Design, build, program, and test an autonomous robot to complete missions related to the annual Challenge theme

  • Present their original research and solutions

  • Complete interviews regarding technical and teamwork processes

  • Carry out school of origin and community outreach and education

The FLL annual Challenge:

  • Encourages kids to think like scientists and engineers

  • Provides a fun, creative, hands-on learning experience

  • Teaches kids to experiment and overcome obstacles

  • Builds self-esteem and confidence

  • Inspires kids to participate in other science and technology related classes and programs

By creativity, access to technology, or interesting research, FLL dares kids to test, explore, expand, and change their approach to science and technology in the world around them.  No matter what the child's interests, FLL offers an opportunity for engagement.
