Summer Camp Description

Who

Campers should be entering the 4th to 8th grade in the fall of 2009.  No experience necessary.  Campers are encouraged to enroll with a friend to increase their enjoyment of the camp experience and to promote continuing interest in robotics and perhaps participation in either our LEGO League or High School level programs.  Please attach a note to your application form to indicate your friends name.

What

The camp is designed to teach campers everything that they need to know about basic principles of design, programming, and the engineering process through the creation of LEGO robots to overcome mission challenges.  The mission based activities allow students of all ability levels and experience to learn new skills and build a genuine pride in their accomplishments.  The camp includes a fieldtrip to the Janesville GM plant to see over 600 industrial robots in action (may not be available in 2009) and to the planetarium for robots in space.

Where

The 2009 camp is scheduled for Madison's west side... site to be determined.

When

Session One:  2009 Dates TBD, 8 AM to Noon

Session Two:  2009 Dates TBD, 1 to 5 PM

Session Three: 2009 Dates TBD, 8 AM to Noon

Session Four:   2009 Dates TBD, 1 to 5 PM

Schedule Exception - On our fieldtrip day our camp hours will be different as both sessions will participate as one group!  This will most likely be the second Tuesday, but the day may change if required!  We combine both groups and run from about 9 AM to 2:00 PM... finalized times available as soon as we have them.

Our goal is to provide an enjoyable environment where campers experience the pride of solving complex problems through science and engineering while learning about a thematic challenge and robotics.
