Sign up now to be a part of BadgerBOTS Spring Afterschool Classes!

BadgerBOTS Afterschool classes are for students currently in 3rd-7th grade. The cost is $120 per student.

Classes will be one day a week for 2 hours and will progress over 6 weeks. Each day there are two class times, 4:00-6:00 PM and 4:30-6:30PM.

Since class is right after school, we will have a nut-free snack for everyone one hour into the class. We have a place to keep snacks if students need/want to bring their own. Please no nuts in any snacks brought from home!

Session I will begin the week of February 13th and Session II will begin the week of April 17th.

mazeScratch Game Design:
Computer programming concepts and techniques will be taught as students create projects around the themes of Digital Storytelling, Game Design, Social Media, and Art and Computer Animation. Small group classes will accommodate students with any level of experience with Scratch. Beginner level students will get step-by-step instruction while more advanced students can work through lessons at their own pace with check-ins from the instructors. With four different topics and tons of projects to work on, students can choose to learn about the parts of computer programming which interest them the most!

Summer Camp Individual Topic Slides (4)3D Printing Lab:
Learn how to use a computer to design and modify 2D and 3D designs and artwork with Tinkercad, a beginner CAD (computer-aided design) program.  Over the six weeks, students will work on various design challenges as well as their own projects to be 3D printed on our 3D printers. The best part – we will have lots of time to improve designs and re-print as we go!

codecombatCode Combat – Learn Python:
In Code Combat, students will learn real, typed code – Python, to be exact. Weekly lessons will go over the basics and a review from the previous week. Then students will use what they have learned to complete Code Combat “levels”. Each student will pick a “hero” and will need to use Python to help find treasure, fight bad-guys, and protect the villagers! It is all the fun and problem solving of a RPG but with the expectations of real code (don’t forget that semi-colon!). There will be a lot of typing in this class, so students should be comfortable with the keyboard. Some experience coding is helpful, but not necessary for the class.
