Summer Camp Employees

BadgerBOTS summer camp programs typically begin mid-June and continue through the summer until the final week of August. Instructors are expected to lead week-long camps according to BadgerBOTS curriculum. Counselors support instructors by helping to answer student questions, working one-on-one with students, and helping to prepare class materials.

Technical training will be provided along with general program training and will be scheduled during the 2 weeks before camp begins in June. Applicants will need to be generally available for this training time.

For Summer 2021, some camps will be offered in-person, and others will be held virtually. All instructors will teach from the BadgerBOTS Education Center.

A strong candidate for any position will have experience working with youth in a camp or club program, K-12 education, or other youth mentoring role. Instructors should be capable public speakers, be able to think on their feet and improvise to adapt to their students needs and learning styles, dependable, and excited to help students expand their STEM knowledge through investigative and hands-on learning.

Some familiarity with any of the following is preferred but not necessary: Scratch or other block-based code languages, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript, Python, or other programming language. Check out our class topics here.

Three shift types are possible, depending on the camp topic schedule.

  • Mornings 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Afternoons 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • All Day (includes 30 minute lunch break) 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

You can view Summer Camp schedule, classes, and class description on the Summer Camp Page.
