Job Opportunity – Marketing Communications Coordinator

At BadgerBOTS, we build relationships while developing and creating inspirational STEM experiences for kids of all ages.

BadgerBOTS Mission:

To provide high-quality tech opportunities using open-ended challenges in a collaborative and creative environment.  For 10 years, BadgerBOTS has delivered our programs throughout Wisconsin to more than 20,000 youth with the help of over 1,000 volunteers.

Salary: $18-$20 an hour

Overview: 

We are looking for a highly independent worker who would like to innovate ways of promoting and marketing BadgerBOTS.  This person should have a grasp on all forms of communication – electronic, print – and would like to come up with new ways of using them.

Duties:

  • Communicate the BadgerBOTS story in ways that build brand recognition and support fundraising.
  • Use and develop our visual and voice brand and support consistency across content and audiences.
  • Build a consistent use of email communication, including monthly newsletters.
  • Website updating and maintenance.
  • Manage social media presence.
  • Create and maintain promotional materials.
  • Continue to plan, develop, and implement a marketing plan and social media plan. 

Other duties as required:

  • Answer phone calls
  • Open/Close Building
  • Safety of all participants in the building
  • Notifying the Executive Director when there are issues
  • Any other duties as assigned  

Skills Useful:

  1. A degree in or pursuing education in Marketing, Technical Writing, Communications, English, UX, or a related field.
  2. Proven, effective verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office(Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  4. Intermediate proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop
  5. Intermediate knowledge of website development, updating, and maintaining
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Willingness to learn about a new topic from an expert through asking questions.
  8. Experience making information easy to understand, creating meaningful stories that resonate with the audience.
  9. Experience with web-based marketing tools and/or content management systems.
  10. Experience with Search Engine Optimization(SEO), Google Analytics, and Social Media Analytics.
  11. Video software and creation experience are desired.
  12. Survey tool experience and knowledge of survey best practices are desired.
  13. Knowledge or experience with STEM-based education is a plus.
