Safety Training Materials

Before going into the shop, you must complete the safety tests that are online and get final checkoff on each tool.  We were not vigilant enough this last fall.   Get your safety test done now so you don’t have to do it in September.  It’s good for a whole year.
NOTE: YOU NEED TO REGISTER AND WAIT TO GET ADDED TO THE POOL BY MODERATOR!  DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE.
Students make an account on here (under their real name please, no nicknames or this will become impossible), and take the test. It is  broken down into sections to make it easier to handle.      http://frc.newtonwolfe.com:8080/moodle/course/view.php?id=2
The tests are mostly common sense: we want to ensure that you know proper safety.

The information is here: BBRC Tool Training Document 2013

Most of the safety manual (p1-47) is information on specific tools, p48-59 are specific rules for various tools, p60-75 are the tests.  But take the tests online, please. The document has tons of information about tools we often use like screws and bolts, including the proper way to use them, their names, and the advantages of different styles.  If you don’t know the name of something, please look it up and use the proper name. Once you know the material, it should take ~1/2 hour to pass all the tests.  You need 100% on every test to pass.
