2025 Summer Camps

Coding with Scratch Jr. Camp introduces kids to the exciting world of coding through fun, interactive lessons. Using the Scratch Jr. app, students will learn basic coding concepts by creating their own stories, games and animations. This hands-on camp fosters creativity, logical thinking and problem-solving as students design their projects while exploring the fundamentals of programming in a playful and supportive environment. By the end of the camp, they’ll have a strong foundation in coding and the confidence to continue exploring technology on their own.

In LEGO Simple Machines Camp, kids will explore physical science concepts such as forces, motion and interactions by building and experimenting with LEGO models. They'll gain a deeper understanding of STEAM principles in an engaging and interactive environment. This camp fosters teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking, making learning exciting and accessible for all. Please note: this is not a robotics program.

LEGO Spike Robotics Camp introduces young builders to the exciting world of robotics and coding in a fun, hands-on environment. Using LEGO bricks, motors, sensors and an intuitive coding platform, kids will design and program interactive models such as robots, vehicles and creative machines. Campers will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills while exploring the fundamentals of STEAM through engaging, project-based learning!

LEGO WeDo Build & Code Camp combines creativity and technology as kids build and program simple robotic models. Using the LEGO® WeDo system, kids will learn basic coding concepts while exploring motion, sensors and teamwork. It’s a fun, hands-on introduction to STEM!

In Micro:bit Junior Camp, kids will explore basic programming concepts through fun, hands-on projects like creating interactive games, animations and simple devices. They’ll develop problem-solving skills, creativity and a foundation in programming and electronics. This camp is designed for young learners eager to explore technology in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Best of all, students will leave the program with their very own Micro:bit, so they can continue experimenting and learning at home! Please note that the cost of the Micro:bit is included in the cost for this camp.

In Young Science Explorers Camp, students will engage in project-based learning by combining coding, model-building, sensors and scientific exploration techniques to investigate the world around them. Through hands-on projects, they’ll seamlessly blend creativity and technology, honing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This dynamic experience sparks curiosity and offers a deeper understanding of STEAM concepts in a fun, interactive and engaging environment.

In 3D Printing Camp, kids will learn the basics of 3D modeling and how to bring their ideas to life using 3D printers. From creating simple shapes to more complex designs, they will explore the exciting process of turning digital models into real objects. This beginner-friendly camp fosters creativity, problem-solving and innovation, allowing students to see firsthand how technology and design can work together to bring their unique ideas to life. (Some 3D prints may need to be picked up at BadgerBots in Middleton after camp ends.)

Coding Scratch Games Camp introduces kids to game development using Scratch, a beginner-friendly platform with block-based coding. Students learn essential coding concepts like loops, variables and conditional statements while designing their own interactive games. They bring their creativity to life by crafting unique characters, storylines and gameplay features. Throughout the camp, kids develop problem-solving skills, express their creativity and gain confidence in coding. By the end, they will have completed custom games to share and play with others.

Intro to LEGO Robotics Camp uses LEGO® Education Spike Prime kits to teach students to build and program their own robots, vehicles and interactive machines. Using bricks, motors, sensors and an easy-to-use coding platform, kids will explore the basics of engineering, design and problem-solving. Through hands-on activities and fun challenges, they’ll develop critical thinking skills while bringing their creations to life. This camp offers a fun and engaging way to learn robotics.

Robotic Challenge – Team Bootcamp Camp is perfect for kids eager to advance their coding and robotics expertise while exploring the possibility of joining a competitive robotics team. Working in small teams, participants will design, build and program LEGO robots to tackle real-world, themed missions. They’ll sharpen their critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Additionally, a research-based component adds depth, encouraging students to develop innovative solutions to social or environmental challenges. This dynamic and hands-on program offers an engaging introduction to robotics, coding, engineering and innovation. Participants can register with friends to form a team or join a new team upon arrival–everyone will be part of a group ready to collaborate and have fun!

Perfect for young coders, this camp is a fun and engaging way to build programming skills while exploring the Minecraft universe!

Arcade Game Design Camp lets kids design and code their own playable arcade-style games using Scratch, a beginner-friendly programming tool that uses block-based coding. In this beginner-friendly camp, students learn key concepts like game mechanics, logic and design while bringing their creative ideas to life. They develop problem-solving and coding skills in a fun and collaborative environment. By the end of camp, participants will have completed their own games to share and play with their peers in the class, friends and family!
