Meet Our New Executive Director!

Headshot of our Executive Director, Mark Rushton, with a blurred classroom background.

BadgerBots is pleased to announce that Mark Rushton has been appointed as the organization’s new Executive Director.

Mark has more than 15 years of experience in leadership and youth development, having served as Club Director and Owner of Capital Volleyball Academy in the Madison Area. Mark also dedicated his time to the Board of Directors for the Badger Region Volleyball Association, fostering growth and leadership in young athletes. Before this, he served as the Director of Outreach for the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, where he demonstrated a commitment to empowering youth through education and outreach initiatives.

“Throughout my years working with young people across Wisconsin, I have witnessed the power of challenging each individual to strive toward their goals, and providing the support they need to keep moving forward. The diversity of STEAM experiences is limited only by our imaginations. Helping students dream, explore and implement their ideas through technology is our passion. I look forward to collaborating with the dedicated volunteers and staff of BadgerBots to expand STEAM education and robotics programs throughout Dane County.”

Mark has two kids and lives between Cambridge and Fort Atkinson on 20 acres of land. His kids attend Lake Mills School District.  They have a dog, chickens, ducks, geese and a guinea pig. He enjoys running and making maple syrup from his own trees.

Welcome, Mark!
